Car Parking
All parking in permissible areas outside of the hotel and further along St. Lukes Road is currently free and without time limit.
There is also a car park for 4-5 cars behind the hotel. To reach the car park, drive down the small lane at the right of the building, then hard left into the car park. Note that there is no exit from the lane and little turning space so we advise checking on arrival that there is adequate space for your car in the car park.

LOCAL TRANSPORT
Bus services in Torquay
The Hillcroft is located within a half-mile walk of the nearest bus stops at Abbey Sands, and within a mile of the main bus stops in Torquay town centre. Both bus stops are a downhill walk from The Hillcroft (and uphill for the return trip).
Buses depart regularly for Paignton, Brixham, Dartmouth, Totnes, Teignmouth, Exeter and beyond. Contact us if you will require more information on bus transport or to check transport to unlisted destinations.
Taxi services in Torquay
We recommend a local, reliable taxi company for all local guest transport requirements. This company can also provide transport with wheelchair access, although advance notice is essential to ensure availability. Contact us for more details.
Bicycle hire
A local company, approximately half a mile from The Hillcroft will rent bikes on a daily or half-daily basis. Contact us if you require their details.
ACCESS ON FOOT
The Hillcroft is located in a quiet residential street, opposite St. Lukes Church, and near the top of Waldon hill.
Walking to The Hillcroft from Torquay town or from Abbey Sands beach will require an uphill climb.
LAYOUT OF THE HILLCROFT
The main building
The Hillcroft is set in a single building of Victorian construction with four floors. There is no lift (elevator).

The Ground Floor (Main entrance, Bar, Dining Room and Dry Lounge).
The First Floor
(Tuscany , Amsterdam and
Bali bedrooms).
The Second Floor (Provence Suite).
The Lower Ground Floor (Car Park entrance, India Suite, Lombok bedroom and Treatment Room).
Note: The car park entrance to the lower ground floor is normally locked and all guest access made through the front main entrance on the ground floor. Keys are available to the car park door for guests with limited mobility.
Garden and Grounds
The Hillcroft has a front, South-facing garden with seats and tables. Guests are welcome to use the garden.
Access to the garden is via four steps down of maximum height 17cm and minimum width 70cm.
There is a hand-rail at the right side of the steps, none to the left.
The main area of the garden is loosely pebbled.
